In May 2022, after six months of preparation, I finally had the opportunity to study with Ulrich Hinsberger, one of the best of contemporary violin makers from Germany. Uli is one of the earliest partners of the BdA. During the 40-day learning period, Uli patiently shared his original design concept of the P mould with me, as well as his modifications. I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying in Germany with him, and it will be a precious memory in my life. As a result, after returning to Melbourne, I named this violin “Biberach,” after the place where my good friend Uli works.
