Project No 45 “Double Espresso I ”
The violin, Op. 45, was specially crafted for the 2024 Cremona Triennial Violinmaking Competition. It features a back plate made from a single piece of 16-year-old dried maple, while the top plate is made from Italian spruce that has been dried for nearly 20 years. The instrument’s design is based on the P mould used by Antonio Stradivari.
Sound Adjustment
After the instrument was completed, I invited a friend to help fine-tune the final sound. The entire process was divided into three stages:
1. **12 hours after the instrument’s completion**
2. **Two weeks after completion** (during which the violin was played continuously without any tuning adjustments)
3. **Post-tuning**
Apologies for the fact that the dialogue in the video is in Chinese. For ease of comparison, I have edited the final audio clips together, allowing for a direct comparison of the sound. The same recording equipment and distance were used for all three recordings.
